I hope you all had a fantastic summer holiday, welcome back to Badger Class. We have an exciting half term ahead with our class topic being the Roman Empire. As Mathematicians we will be exploring place value, looking at time and of course Roman Numerals as well as addition and subtraction, measures of length, mass, volume and capacity. As writers we will be using story mapping to learn and produce our own Fables, Roman mythical stories and explanation texts. As historians we will be looking at the effect of the Roman Empire on Britain in particular Hadrian’s Wall and the invasions. Art and DT are linked to our Roman topic, so we shall be designing and making jewellery and a mosaic floor pattern. As Scientists we will be finding out about animals and describing the digestive system. P.E. will be held now on a Thursday and Friday afternoon and we will be outside for as long as possible, please provide your child with a suitable P.E. kit. Our RE involves considering what it means to be a Christian and harvest. We are developing our written and spoken French vocabulary skills. On Thursdays we are lucky to have music taught through the Suffolk music team. If you have any questions or concerns please catch me at the end of the day or alternatively make an appointment through Mrs Pipe, Mrs Fairlie
