Rabbits are farming this term!
Rabbit Class Summer 1st Half Term
We hope that you have all had a fun filled Easter break. It’s hard to believe that we are now going into the summer term! It is amazing to see the children’s progress over the last two terms. The topic for this half term will be On the Farm. In literacy we are going to be reading lots of stories that are set on a farm, including; What the Ladybird Heard, Tattybogle, Rosie’s Walk and Fergus the Farmyard Dog. The children will be looking at rhyming words, making up their own stories and writing facts about farm animals. Maths this half term will focus on; counting in 10’s, adding and subtracting by counting on and back, sorting shapes and number families to 6 and 7. In understanding of the world the children will learn about; farming, using our senses, the seasons and growth and change. In PE we will be practising dances for our May Day celebrations and learning athletic skills. Please could you send in something suitable to wear for PE outside, such as navy jogging bottoms or leggings, plimsolls or trainers and socks. As artists the children will be creating maps, building a model farmyard and designing our own scarecrow. The theme for personal, social and emotional development is going for goals.
Thank you for your continued support at home, it really does make such a difference to your child’s learning. If you have any questions please come and talk to us.
