Harvest Festival Prayer

25th September, 2015

We wrote this prayer:

Dear God

Thank you for all the food we have to eat.

Please help us to remember those who do not have enough.

Amen

Lemon Drizzle Cakes

25th September, 2015

Lovely lemon drizzle cakes were made by us today – with a little help from Mrs Chapman!

A big thanks to Harkirat Singh for coming into school yesterday to share his faith as a Sihk with us.

Feedback comments from the children included:

  • It really made me think
  • Wearing a turban made me look different
  • I didn’t know that there was a temple in Ipswich.

As we gathered to say goodbye, we sang a prayer to thank God for everything and thought about the different ways in which we connect with God.

Final prayers came from our Owl class children, reminding us that:

  • The world is our gift to keep and care for
  • Different coloured skin tones remind me that we are all different and that we should have a world without war
  • Don’t be greedy and help the poor – treat everybody equally
  • Always be honest and think about your actions.

What a fantastic day we have all enjoyed today. There were four sessions:

  • Food and health
  • School and education
  • Animals
  • Music and religion.

A day full of singing and laughter – plus being ‘in fruit heaven’! Assante (thanks) to the Kagera team.

Mini Beasts

The children in Rabbit Class are learning all about mini beasts. We have; researched the life cycle of a caterpillar, made caterpillar tortilla rolls and we have been on a hunt for mini beasts.

Chinese New Year

8th July, 2015

Rabbit Class have been learning about Chinese New Year. Mrs Chapman helped us cook sweet and sour chicken. We talked about raw meat and how to tell when it was cooked. We tasted our food afterwards! It was yummy.

We’ve been talking about our likes and aspirations for our first year at Barningham CEVC Primary.

Here are some of our reflections:

 We like:

  • painting letters
  • playing in the igloo – really fun;
  • kicking balls
  • making gingerbread men
  • maths
  • money puzzles
  • learning about sounds.

 We would like to:

  • learn more about letters and key words
  • digraphs and trigraphs so that I can write more
  • painting.

What would you like to learn?
