Welcome back, we hope that you all had a great half term break.
Our topic for the next half term is Dinosaurs and Pre-History. In Literacy we will be reading a range of fiction and non fiction books about dinosaurs and the Stone Age. The children are making fantastic progress with their handwriting. We will continue working on handwriting skills to ensure that letters are formed correctly. The children will be making a class fact file about dinosaurs. We are going to use descriptive language to write about dinosaurs. In the last week of term we are writing a book on baby animals. Maths this half term will focus on; counting on, measures and comparing weights, shape and space, comparing numbers, money and time. PE this half term will include; gymnastics, country dancing, running, hopping and jumping. As well as continuing to develop our fine motor skills with lots of fun activities such as making salt dough fossils and excavating for bones. As artists and designers we will be making a book with sliders, creating junk model dinosaur homes and making cave paintings using natural mediums. In Understanding of the World we will be finding out about the job of a palaeontologist, researching dinosaurs and finding out about how people lived in the Stone Age.
We would just like to say thank you for all the support you are proving with you child’s learning at home, it really does make such a difference. We look forward to seeing the progress over this next half term.
