In Squirrel class this half term …

Welcome back, I hope that you have all had a great half term and are looking forward to this last half term. For this half term Squirrel Class are carrying on with our topic of castles. In literacy we will be writing letters to persuade based on the story of ‘The day the crayons quit’. We will also be using the story of ‘Flat Stanley’ to help us write diaries. Please have a look at http://www.roythezebra.com/ for some literacy games which you could play with your child at home. As mathematicians we will be looking at the four operations, statistics and shape. Please have a look at Jack Hartmann on YouTube for some fun songs to help your child learn their times tables. As scientists we will be continue to look at the properties of everyday materials. In history the children will be continuing to look at castles with Mrs Orchard. In geography we will be looking at rural areas. We will continue to have PE on a Wednesday and Friday, please could you ensure that your child has their PE kit in on these days and that they are named. Spellings and times table tests will continue to be tested on a Friday. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me, I am always available before and after school. Thank you, Miss Shipston
