We have had such an exciting week, we have had firefighters visiting us from Ixworth Fire Station and RAF Mildenhall Fire department.
We learned about the fire service and their role in the community which links with our learning about the Great Fire of London. In 1666 there was no fire service, which is one of the reasons why the fire was so devastating for our capital city. We have been learning about the introduction of the fire service, and how it has changed since. We have looked at the equipment and engines, focussing on how they have both developed, particularly over the last 100 years.
